Anagama Kiln Firing

The firing is a microcosm of what Still Mountain Center represents, an example of what we can do together, a collaboration of professional artist/ potters involved , each with pieces in the kiln or working the firing shifts. The firing process requires us to hold our attention together for the week long firing, day and night, in order to make work upon which our livlihood depends. In working together with this intensity we learn about the process, about each other and ourselves. It is always a community event , with many people visiting during the two weeks of loading and firing. Whether you come for an hour, a day, or two weeks, you can feel the power, the joy and celebration in the process!
